Phoenix Graphics, who provide large format digital printing and signage services, were successful in achieving a grant for the cost of their ePrint MIS solution and associated implementation from Hexicom Software. The process is pretty much the same as any new implementation, the only difference is the way you pay for the solution.
Yvette Lesina, Director at Phoenix Graphics applied through the Small Business Digital Grants from the Queensland Government where there is available funding (matching funding) of up to $10,000 for the purchase of hardware, software and services. Some of the criteria were that the company had to have fewer than 20 employees, be based in Queensland, and have a turnover of under $2million in the last 12 months.
It was a pretty easy process and Yvette had the assistance of a grant writer to ensure all the boxes were ticked and all the T’s crossed. The Accelerate Small Business Grants Program provides targeted assistance to small businesses that demonstrate high-growth and employment aspirations to enable them to engage high-level expertise for their business. Matched funding of up to $10,000 (excl. GST) may be provided to eligible businesses to engage business mentors, coaches or an advisory board for a six to 12-month period. The purpose is to provide high-level expertise to encourage growth and job creation through business expansion. The grant program is open continuously with applications assessed on a monthly basis. Approximately $3 million will be distributed to grant recipients over three years.
The Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program provides newly-created small businesses access to planning, coaching and training to help them get a better start. Matched funding of up to $5,000 (excl. GST) may be provided to eligible businesses to engage a consultant, advisor, or business coach to help establish or develop the business. There will be three rounds each year, expected to commence in February, July and December. Approximately $3 million will be distributed to grant recipients over three years.
